Accelerating Streaming Content

After you have connected the cache device to your network and completed the other basic setup instructions in Integrating Excelerator XL into Your Network, you can set up these services on your network.

By default, Excelerator XL 1.0 supports HTTP streaming wherein a streaming file is delivered through HTTP and played in a browser plug-in.

Excelerator XL 1.0 also includes support for the streaming solutions shown in the following table.

IMPORTANT:  As with all Excelerator XL 1.0 functionality, streaming solutions require service-specific licenses. To activate a given streaming solution, you must therefore obtain and install a service-specific Media Excelerator license.
