Content Filtering

Excelerator XL 1.0 cache devices are designed to leverage third-party N2H2 and Websense filtering services through the device's access control policies.

After you create a policy with a rule that refers to a third-party filtering server, the device will query the server to obtain one of the following pieces of information.

• The category assigned to the requested URL by the filtering server

  or

• A response as to whether the filtering server would allow or deny the request

Based on the information that is returned, the access control policy will then either allow or block the request.
