SilverStream provides sample applications you can use to learn features and techniques for developing your own applications. This page describes them:
SilverStream offers different sets of sample applications, depending on which products you install:
J2EE samples and examples are available when you install SilverStream eXtend Workbench.
Look for their documentation in the Workbench help.
Classic SilverStream sample applications (involving SilverStream pages, forms, and business objects) are available when you install the SilverStream eXtend Application Server.
See
The classic sample applications below.
The SilverStream server ships with a number of classic sample applications, which are applications that use classic SilverStream features such as SilverStream pages, business objects, and forms. These applications are included for developers who are maintaining classic SilverStream applications that use those features. (We recommend that new applications be built using standard J2EE development. For more information about J2EE, see the J2EE Quick Start.)
Here are links to the classic sample applications, which are shipped with the SilverStream server as application databases you can install and run:

The classic sample applications are installed on your hard drive and accessible as Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere databases when you install the SilverStream server with specific options. After installation, you must add the sample databases to your server before you can run the applications.
To install and run the classic sample applications:
Install the SilverStream server with these options:
Select one of these installation types:
By default, you can access these databases with the user name dba and password sql.
If you chose Typical install, add sample applications of your choice to your server by selecting Add Database from the Main Designer or by using the SilverCmd AddDatabase command-line tool.
Run the sample application. Click individual links for application-specific instructions:
For more information about installation options, see the Installation Guide of the server's Core Help.
