Administration Basics

This part:

Introduces you to the SilverStream Application Server's three-tiered architecture and outlines your tasks as a SilverStream system administrator. It also introduces the SilverStream Management Console (SMC), which you will use to perform many administrative tasks.

Describes the basic hardware configurations for the SilverStream Application Server and explains how the server operates in the Web environment.

Describes database configuration settings for SilverStream-supported databases. It also describes the SilverMaster database, and briefly outlines general database administration.

Administering the Server

Running the server, including how to start and stop the server and how to log server activity
