Novell File Reporter was developed to be easy to install and configure with specific installation modules written for deploying the product in different environments:
Directory service managed network environments
Directory service managed network environments with Novell Storage Manager
Non-directory service managed network environments
An optimal deployment of Novell File Reporter includes its deployment within a network environment managed through either Novell eDirectory™ or Microsoft* Active Directory* along with Novell Storage Manager. However, you can deploy Novell File Reporter without Novell Storage Manager and a network-wide directory service deployment. In the latter scenario, for licensing and authentication purposes, you need a single machine running Windows* or Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 running eDirectory.
