9.4 Adding Local Security to the Active Directory Managed Cluster

In order for Novell File Reporter to display cluster server resources (virtual servers) as storage resources, each virtual server requires a select set of Local Security Authority Privileges (LSA Privs). LSA Privs are granted on other storage resources when the NFR Agent is installed. The easiest way to grant these privileges is to make the NFRProxyRights or NSMProxyRights group a member of the LOCAL Administrators group of each virtual server.

NOTE:You must be logged in as a Domain Administrator to perform this procedure.

  1. On each computer hosting an NFR Agent that you want to serve as a proxy agent, go to Start > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy.

This brings up the Local Security Policy administration interface.

  2. In the left pane, from Local Policies, browse to User Rights Assignments.

This displays a list of LSA Privs in the right pane.

  3. Right-click the Access this computer form the network privilege and select Properties.

  4. Click Add User or Group.

  5. In the Enter the object names to select field, type one of the following:

    • domain_name\NSMProxyRights

    • domain_name\NFRProxyRights

  6. Click Check Names to verify that the proxy rights group exists.

  7. Click OK to save the settings.

  8. When asked for your confirmation to make the change, click Yes to save the changes.
