4.0 Checking GroupWise and Messenger Interoperability

To show Messenger presence in GroupWise, one of the following must match between GroupWise and Messenger:

  • GroupWise DN matches Messenger DN.

  • GroupWise preferred email address matches the mail attribute stored in Messenger. You can store the mail attribute in Messenger by doing an LDAP sync.

  • GroupWise preferred email address matches the userid@defaulthostid in Messenger that is constructed from the user settings and their assigned policy.

NOTE:Only the users in your contact list show their presence in GroupWise. If you do not see a user’s presence in GroupWise, you must add them to your Messenger contact list and then restart the GroupWise client so that it picks up the new Messenger contact.
