GroupWise 7

Download and Installation

downloading the groupwise software:

  1. On the GroupWise® 7 Downloads page, click the Download button next to a file you want.

    gw701clnxm.tar.gz GroupWise 7 Client (Linux*)
    gw701cmacm.dmg GroupWise 7 Client (Macintosh*)
    gw701cmacim.dmg GroupWise 7 Client (Macintosh for Intel*)
    gw301olcm.exe GroupWise Connector 3 for Microsoft* Outlook* (Windows)

  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to download the file to a directory on your machine or automatically install the file.

installing groupwise

windows client

  1. Change to the directory where you downloaded the client, then double-click gw701cm.exe to uncompress the files.
  2. Browse to the location where you uncompressed the files, then double-click the setup.exe file to begin the installation.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions until the client has finished installing.
  4. To start the Windows client, double-click the GroupWise icon on your Windows desktop.

linux client

  1. In a terminal window at your Linux workstation, change to the directory where you downloaded the client, then use the following commands to uncompress and untar the downloaded file:

    tar -xvzf gw701clnxm.tgz

  2. Change to the ~/root/image/2006.06.13/client/linux directory.
  3. In the same terminal window, become root by entering su and the root password.
  4. Enter rpm -Uhf novell-groupwise-gwclient-7.0.1-20060613.i386.rpm.
  5. To start the Cross-Platform client after installation, click the GroupWise icon on your Linux desktop.

macintosh client

  1. Click the gw701cmacm.dmg or gw701cmacim.dmg file to download and install the Macintosh client.
  2. To start the Cross-Platform client, click the GroupWise icon on your Macintosh desktop.

groupwise connector for outlook

  1. Change to the directory where you downloaded the client, then double-click gw301olcm.exe to uncompress the files.
  2. Browse to the location where you uncompressed the files, then double-click the setup.exe file to begin the installation.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions until the client has finished installing.
  4. To start the GroupWise Connector for Outlook, click the Outlook icon on your desktop.
