GroupWise Async Gateway 2.0

1.0 Product Overview

GroupWise^® Async Gateway 2.0 provides the following improvements over the previous version:

• The Async Gateway has been updated to match GroupWise 6.x functionality in several areas.
• The Async Gateway snap-in to ConsoleOne^® works with the GroupWise 6.5 snap-ins. In addition, the Async Gateway Installation program lets you select the ConsoleOne snap-in to match the specific version of the GroupWise snap-ins.
• The Windows* Async Gateway can run as a Windows service as well as an application.
• SNMP is supported for the NetWare^® Async Gateway, so that the Async Gateway can be monitored from SNMP management and monitoring programs.
• A Web console is provided, so that the Async Gateway can be monitored from any location where you have access to a Web browser and the Internet.
• The Web Console Log Files page now includes the capability of searching multiple log files for a specified string.

2.0 Installation Instructions

1. Make sure that the MTA for the domain where you want to install the Async Gateway is running.

2. Run the self-extracting executable setupasy.exe, click Yes to confirm that you want to install the gateway, then click Next to continue.

3. Click Accept to accept the license agreement.

   The default installation option, GroupWise Async Gateway, includes installation of the Gateway Administrator snap-in to ConsoleOne.

4. Click Next to continue.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

6. If you are updating an existing installation of the Async Gateway, check in ConsoleOne to make sure that the Database Version field on the Async Gateway Identification page is set to 4.x.

3.0 Changes Since the Last Release

• Unconfigured ports no longer display garbage characters.
• Fixed several abends and memory leaks.
