iChain Installation and Setup

Introduction

The purpose of this documentation is to help you install, configure, and administer the Novell^® iChain^TM infrastructure.

The audience for this documentation is network administrators.

This guide is divided into the following sections.

• Overview --- An explanation of the benefits of iChain and an overview of the components that make up iChain.
• Installing iChain Services --- Instructions for how to install iChain, including an installation scenario, system requirements, software installation instructions and instructions for how to install iChian ConsoleOne Snap-ins.
• Setting Up a Basic Configuration --- An explanation of the tasks you need for setting up a basic iChain infrastructure.
• Setting Up an Advanced Configuration --- An explanation of how to augment or alter the basic iChain implementation and how to use more advanced iChain features.
• Using and Tuning iChain Features --- An explanation of how to fine tune your appliance.
• iChain Management --- An explanation of how to use the iChain 2.0 Setup Wizard.
• iChain Proxy Server Management --- Details the configuration and management of the iChain Proxy Server.
• Rewrite Filter Support --- An explanation of how to configure and use iChain's rewrite filter.
