After you install Novell® iChain® 2.3 with Support Pack 3, the product will remain in a fully functional evaluation mode for 90 days. For iChain to continue working after the 90-day period, you must purchase an iChain 2.3 license and apply a Product Activation Credential. For complete information on activating iChain, see "Activating iChain" in the "Installing iChain Services" chapter of the iChain Administration Guide. To purchase an iChain license, see How to Buy. Note: Unless activated, Novell iChain 2.3 will expire after 90 days. When the evaluation version expires, the iChain Proxy Server will not function.

Download Instructions

To download iChain 2.3 SP3, follow the instructions below. If you are upgrading to iChain 2.3 from iChain 2.2, download only the ic23sp3 executable from Novell Technical Services and apply.

Full Download of iChain 2.3 SP3

To download and install iChain 2.3 SP3:

  1. Create an installation directory on your workstation.
  2. Download ICHAIN_23_AUTH.EXE and ICHAIN_233_PROXY.ISO.
  3. An installation CD must be created from the ISO image. Create the installation CD according to the instructions of your CD imaging software. The following instructions use Adaptec's* Easy CD Creator* as an example:
  1. Open the Easy CD Creator Utility.
  2. Select File > Create CD from CD Image.
  3. In the Files of Type text box, select or browse to select the ISO image file.
  4. Select the target device and other options according to your hardware specifications.
  1. The ICHAIN_23_AUTH.EXE executable will extract into the installation structure for the iChain Authorization Server.
    From the root of the installation structure, run SETUP.EXE and follow the installation instructions.
