Using ICS Logging Services

ICS appliance has several logging services. You are given the ability to turn the log on and off, specify the rollover frequency (rollover every x period of time starting at y time and date). You are also given control over deleting old log files based on an older-than-x time period or the number of log files in the system. Logs are in the common log format and a wide variety of tools exist for the manipulation and processing of these files.

You can turn on logging for forward, transparent, and reverse proxy as well as for URL filtering. You can download log files via FTP or the browser-based management tools' Monitor button and Logging tab.

Each service that provides logging allows you to enable or disable logging by checking the checkbox for logging, as described in the following sections.
