5.2 Downloading the iFolder Client Install Files

The iFolder client for Novell iFolder 3.x is available for download on the iFolder 3.x Welcome page of your iFolder enterprise server.

  1. Open a Web browser to the following location to open the server’s Welcome page:

    http://ifolder3.example.com

    Replace ifolder3.example.com with the DNS name or the IP address (such as 192.168.1.1) of the Novell iFolder 3.x enterprise server where you have an account. Ask your iFolder administrator for this information.

  2. In the left navigator, click iFolder 3.x to open the iFolder 3.x Welcome page.

  3. In the iFolder Links, select one of the following client links to begin the download, then save the file to a local directory:

    ifolder3-mac.tar.gz

    The tar.gz files include the necessary Mono .rpm files for iFolder on your Linux computer and a Mono .dmg file for iFolder on your Macintosh computer.

  4. For the Linux and Macintosh clients, extract the tar.gz files to a local directory. At the command prompt, enter

    tar -zxvf filename

    Replace filename with the tar.gz filename for your operating system.

    Depending on your system, you should now have the following files on your system:
