Installing and Setting Up Management and Monitoring Services

Novell® ZENworks® for Servers (ZfS) Management and Monitoring Services provides industry standards-based monitoring, management, and reporting for heterogeneous network environments.

This section provides basic instructions on planning and installing the Management and Monitoring Services components. Before you begin this process, you should thoroughly understand and plan your implementation. IMPORTANT:  If you are implementing ZfS 3.0.2 in an environment that is running ZENworks for Servers 2 or ZenWorks for Desktops (ZfD) 3.x, there are specific compatibility issues that must be addressed before installation. Before installing the product, you must review the Readme, which contains additional installation, configuration, and compatibility information that must be reviewed before installing ZfS.

The Readme is available as a text file at the root of the ZENworks for Servers Program CD or the ZENworks 6 Server Management Program CD, as a documentation option in an installation program menu (which accesses README_ZFS302.HTML that is located in the DOCUMENT directory on the Program CD), or on the Novell Documentation Web site, which is the most up-to-date version.
