Account Management 3.0.2 Update Instructions

Installing the AS Client API for NetWare Servers for the First Time

If you are installing the AS Client API for NetWare^® Servers for the first time, follow the installation procedures in "Installing the AS Client API for NetWare Servers" in NetWare Intercept and API Quick Start Guide.

Upgrading the AS Client API for NetWare Servers

Novell^® Account Management 3.0.2 includes all of the changes introduced with Support Pack 1. You do not need to install Support Pack 1 before you upgrade to Account Management 3.0.2.

1. Ensure that the Platform Services Process is not running.
   To stop it, unload asampsp.nlm
2. With your Web browser, open readme.html from the root of the Account Management 3.0.2 distribution.
3. Using the link in readme.html, retrieve the Account Management 3.0.2 version of the AS Client API for NetWare Servers self-extracting archive program. You can also obtain the self-extracting archive program from the File Distribution in the Web interface if the Manager has already been updated.
4. On a Windows* workstation connected to the NetWare server where you will install the API, run the self-extracting archive program and extract the distribution package to a temporary location.
5. Copy the extracted files to the NetWare server, replacing their previous versions.
   • Copy asampsp.nlm to sys:asam\bin\platformservices\platformservicesprocess.
   • Copy ascauth.nlm to sys:asam\bin\platformservices\platformclient.
   • Copy ascauth.h, ascauth.imp, and ascauth.jar to places appropriate for API program development.
6. If you are using the Platform Services Process, restart it.
   To start the Platform Services Process, load asampsp.nlm
