Account Management 3.0.2 Update Instructions

Installing Platform Services for MVS for the First Time

If you are installing Account Management 3.0 for the first time, follow the installation procedures in "Installing Platform Services on MVS" in Platform Services Administration Guide.

Upgrading Platform Services for MVS

Before upgrading an existing Platform Services for MVS* installation, review the installation procedures in "Installing Platform Services on MVS" in Platform Services Administration Guide.

Novell® Account Management 3.0.2 includes all of the changes introduced with Support Pack 1. You do not need to install Support Pack 1 before you upgrade to Account Management 3.0.2.

This upgrade should be performed to a target system that is a copy of your production system. IPL this target system as your production system when the upgrade is complete and has been tested to your satisfaction.

  1. With your Web browser, open readme.html from the root of the Account Management 3.0.2 distribution.
  2. Using the link in readme.html, retrieve the Account Management 3.0.2 Platform Services archive packages for the load library, the samples library, and the Receiver Scripts for your security system. You can also obtain these packages from the File Distribution in the Web interface if the Manager has already been updated.
  3. Upload these packages to your target system and RECEIVE them to data sets. For details, see "Obtaining MVS Platform Services Files" in Platform Services Administration Guide.
  4. Review the updated Receiver Scripts for any changes that should be made to your own Receiver Scripts, and carry forward changes as necessary.
  5. Replace the contents of your Platform Services Samples Library with the new library for Account Management 3.0.2. If your Platform Configuration File members for the ASCLIENT or PLATRVCR are stored in the Samples Library, replace them after the copy.
  6. Replace the contents of your Platform Services Load Library with the new library for Account Management 3.0.2.
  7. Install the updated security system exits. For details, see "RACF Exit Installation", "CA-ACF2 Exit Installation", or "CA-Top Secret Exit Installation" in Platform Services Administration Guide.
  8. IPL the target system and test as appropriate.
