To back up NDS or eDirectory filters to LDIF: .
Create a dummy file. This is required because the utility will not allow you to create the file online.
Start ConsoleOne > authenticate yourself.
Select Wizards > NDS or eDirectory Import/Export.
Select the Export LDIF File (the file you created in Step 1) Radio button > click Next.
Enter the Server DNS Name/IP Address.
Enter the Port:389.
Select Authenticated Login.
Enter the User Distinguished Name and password in LDIF format > click Next. An example of the entries could be cn=admin, o=novell.
Enter the Distinguished Name of the NBMRuleContainer as the Base Distinguished Name. For example, cn=NBMRuleContainer, O=novell
Select One Level as the scope > Click Next.
Select the Destination LDIF File > click Next > Finish.
