Working with the Trash

Because multiple files on an appliance might have the same name but have different owners, the Nterprise Branch Office appliance Trash is organized differently from the Recycle Bin on your workstation.

Trash panel

The Trash maintains the same hierarchal structure as the regular file folder so that you can locate, restore, or empty specific files. This gives you greater access to and flexibility with data that might need to be restored.

Restoring a File or Folder

  1. Click File Access Control.

  2. In the Trash, locate and select the file you want to restore and then click Restore.

  3. Select the version of the file you want restored, then click OK.

If there is only one version of the file, you must still select it.

The file is restored to its original location in the directory structure.

Emptying a Specific File or Folder Version from the Trash

  1. Click File Access Control.

  2. In the Trash, locate and select the file you want to empty from the trash and then click Empty File/Folder Version.

  3. Select the version of the file you want to empty, then click OK.

If there is only one version of the file, you must still select it. The file is then purged from the appliance.

Emptying All Versions of a Specified File or Folder

  1. Click File Access Control.

  2. In the Trash, locate and select the file you want to empty from the trash and then click Empty All Versions of File/Folder.

All versions of the file are listed.

  3. Click OK.

All versions of the file are then purged from the appliance.
