NetWare Link/X.25 Link Layer Characteristics

The NetWare Link/X.25 Link layer conforms to the X.25 LAPB procedure and to the HDLC framing format. The NetWare Link/X.25 Link layer has the following characteristics:

• Modulo 8 or 128 numbering scheme
• User-defined window size 1 and 7 (or 1 and 127 for modulo 128 numbering)
• Automatic flow control through RNR frames in case of X.25 overload
• User-configurable retransmission timer (T1)
• User-configurable maximum retransmission counter (N2)
• User-configurable maximum number of bits in an Information (I) frame (N1)
• Automatic frame retransmission in case of transmission errors
• ITU-T 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988 compliance, except for the multilink procedure
