NetWare Link/X.25 Packet Layer Characteristics
The NetWare Link/X.25 Packet layer has the following characteristics:
- Modulo 8 or 128 numbering scheme
- User-configurable default and maximum packet windows between 1 and 7 (or 1 and 127 for modulo 128 numbering)
- User-configurable default and maximum packet sizes between 16 and 4,096 bytes
- User-configurable virtual circuit ranges for PVCs, and switched incoming, outgoing, and two-way virtual circuits
- Negotiation at call setup time of the packet window, packet size, throughput class, and reverse charging
- Full facility checking
- ITU-T 1988 compliant
- Downgradeable to an ITU-T 1976, ITU-T 1980, or ITU-T 1984 version
- Network-specific support through network definition in the configuration table
- Unsupported packet retransmission
