2.7 Opening or Creating Documents with OpenOffice.org

For creating and editing documents, NLD includes OpenOffice.org 1.1.4, a complete set of office tools that can both read and save Microsoft Office file formats. OpenOffice.org has a word processor, a spreadsheet, a drawing tool, and a presentation program. To get started, select one of the tools from the NOffice menu, or click the Office icon on the desktop to start OpenOffice.org.

A number of sample documents and templates are included with OpenOffice.org. You can access the templates by clicking FileNewTemplates and Documents. In addition, you can use AutoPilot, a feature that guides you through the creation of letters and other typical documents.

For a more in-depth introduction to OpenOffice.org, see The OpenOffice.org Office Suite or view the help in an OpenOffice.org program.
