5.6 Using Bookmarks

If you frequently visit certain pages, it can be useful to save them as bookmarks. You can use the Bookmark menu to save all important locations of Web pages or directory links on your local hard disk.

To create a new bookmark in Konqueror, click BookmarksAdd Bookmark. If you have already added some bookmarks, you see them in this list. We recommend arranging your bookmarks into a collection by subjects, grouped hierarchically. Create a new group for bookmarks by clicking New Bookmark Folder on the Bookmarks menu. Open the bookmark editor by clicking BookmarksEdit Bookmarks. Use this utility to organize, rearrange, add, and delete bookmarks.

If you are using Netscape* or Mozilla as additional browsers, it is not necessary to re-create your bookmarks. In the bookmark editor, click FileImport and then select the type of bookmarks you want to import. You can also export bookmarks by clicking FileExport.

Change your bookmarks by right-clicking the entry. A pop-up menu appears where you can select the action you want. When you are satisfied with the result, save the bookmarks by clicking FileSave. If you only want to change the name or link, right-click the entry in the bookmark menu, then click Properties. Change the name and location, then click Update.

To save your bookmark list and have instant access to it, make your bookmarks visible in Konqueror. Click SettingsToolbarsShow Bookmark Toolbar (Konqueror). A bookmark panel is automatically displayed in the current Konqueror window.
