IPsec-tools on your system cannot coexist with the IPsec-tools RPM that gets installed during the VPN Client installation.
rpm -qa ipsec-tools
rpm -e ipsec-tools
VPN Client RPM can be installed only with root privileges.
This is necessary because the VPN connection goes through these ports. For details on configuration, refer to Firewall Issues.
VPN Client for Linux can be installed through the Extras channel in the Red Carpet updater. Get the following RPMs:
When VPN Client for Linux is installed on your system, the IKE starts running and the VPN login icon appears in the NLD main menu.
If you are a CLI user, enter the following command to check if VPN Client for Linux is installed on your system:
rpm -qi turnpike
NOTE: Currently GNOME and KDE are the supported desktops.
