6.1 Meeting System Requirements

The following list identifies the system requirements for a Branch Server:

One server with an x86 processor
A minimum of 4 GB hard disk space; recommended 10 GB

NOTE:This will vary depending on the size of the images you distribute to your Point of Service terminals.
A minimum of 256 MB RAM; recommended 512 MB - 3 GB (at least 256 MB per CPU)
At least two network cards per server:
- One network card for the Administration Server’s public network
- One network card for the Branch Server’s private network

WARNING:Because Branch Servers contain sensitive information, they should be secured. We recommend that you close unused ports and allow only the root user to have access to the server console.
