Set Up Red Carpet Automatic Updates

Your purchase of Novell Linux Small Business Suite entitles you automatic updates and patches using Red Carpet to connect to a service on the Internet. It is a simple, convenient way to keep your network running smoothly.

It is recommended that you set up automatic updates as soon as you install the server operating system.

  1. From the server desktop's Main menu, select System > Configuration > Red Carpet.

  2. Select Connect to This System, and then click Connect.

    If you are prompted to start the daemon, click Yes.

  3. On the Updates - Red Carpet screen, activate the service by clicking File > Activate.

    Activation requires you to enter the activation code and other information you received when you purchased the product.

  4. Subscribe to all relevant channels.

  5. Verify the updates on the Updates page, then click Update All.
