To download the VMWare image for Novell® Sentinel™ Log Manager, click Download Now.
Select a local directory where you want to save the file and click Save

prerequisites

VMWare ESXi server (It has not been tested on VMWare Workstation or Player, but it may work on these platforms also.)
Network connection
hostname -f must return successfully on the host machine

installation instructions

If DHCP server in the network cannot assign and resolve the appliance hostname, the installation will fail. To avoid this, Novell recommends using the "Write Hostname to /etc/hosts" option during the network configuration.

Unzip the VM image SLM_1.0.0.2_SLES11_JeOS_32bit-0.0.1.zip.
Use VMware converter to import the VM image to VMware ESXi Server.
Power on the virtual machine and follow the installation wizard. During network configuration, please select "Write Hostname to /etc/hosts".
Wait for the system to boot up, then log into the system using the default credentials.

The license key is valid for 90 days.

known issues

If you experience network issues with the virtual machine, choose the "Edit Settings..." option for the VM. Remove Network Adapter and click "OK" and then add Network Adapter back and click "OK" again.
