15.1 Installing IPTables Basic

  1. Click Install under Available Components.

  2. Click Basic, then click Next.

  3. Specify your IPTable configurations.

    • External Interface: The network interface connected to the Internet.

    • Internal Interface: The internal network interface. If you are using NAT, it routes from the external interface to the internal interface.

    • NAT: Network Address Translation shares the firewalled Internet connection with the network on the internal network interface. This is a must if you are using this server as your network firewall.

  4. Closely review the settings. If you need to make a change, click Back. To proceed with the installation, click Next.

  5. The firewall install is complete. Click Finish to proceed to the available software page. IPTables is now listed on the installed software list.
