10.2 Installing Samba Advanced

  1. Click Install under Available Software.

  2. Click Advanced, then click Next.

  3. Specify the LDAP configurations for your system.

    • NetBIOS Name: Specify the NetBIOS name of the server. The first part of the host’s DNS name can be used as the NetBIOS name.

    • Workgroup or Domain Name: Specify the name of the workgroup or domain that your server belongs to or will host.

    • LDAP Admin Name: Specify the name of the LDAP admin that has supervisory rights.

    • LDAP Context: Specify the context of the admin user in your eDirectory™ tree.

    • LDAP Admin Password: Specify the password for the LDAP admin whose distinguished name is specified above.

    • User Container: Specify the base LDAP container for users. This is where the sambaDomain object is stored

    • Emulate NT4 Domain Controller: Select this option to enable Samba to emulate an NT4 Primary Domain Controller.

  4. Review the settings. To make a change, click Back. To proceed with the installation, click Next.

  5. The Samba advanced installation is now complete. Click Finish to proceed to the available software page. Samba is now listed on the installed software list and can be administered from the Samba administration link.
