Meeting Conditions for Installing Novell Small Business Suite

The Novell Small Business Suite installation is supported only under the following conditions:

• Install onto a clean, error-free disk drive.

  Remove files from any previous installation, then run the SCANDISK or CHKDSK DOS utilities to verify the integrity of the DOS partition.

• Install into a tree that has Novell eDirectory^TM 8.7 or later.

  Installing into a tree with a version earlier than eDirectory 8 can make User objects unmanageable when using management utilities other than those that ship with Novell Small Business Suite.

• Do not install in to a tree that contains NetWare 4.10 servers. All servers in the tree must be NetWare 4.11 or later.
• So that Licensing works properly, ensure that all NetWare 4 and 5 servers in your tree are at the following minimum Support Pack level:

  NetWare 4.11 and 4.2 servers must be at Support Pack 6a or later

  NetWare 5.0 servers must be at Support Pack 4 or later

  NetWare 5.1 servers must be at Support Pack 3 or later

  We recommend installing the latest available Support Packs on all NetWare servers in your tree.

• Before installing into an existing network, run the Novell Deployment Manager to update the network. For more information, see Preparing the Network with Deployment Manager.

  IMPORTANT:  The Deployment Manager included with this version of Novell Small Business Suite can be run only on an Internet Explorer 5 or 6 browser.
