The following sections outline the system requirements for the Secure Logging Server, Platform Agent, and Novell eDirectory™ and NetWare® Instrumentations.
The Secure Logging Server is the server component in the Nsure™ auditing system. It is installed on the server you want to manage the flow of information to and from the auditing system.
The server where you install the Secure Logging Server must meet the following requirements:
The Platform Agent is the client portion of the Nsure auditing system. It is a shared library that is used by instrumented applications to log events to Novell Nsure Audit. It does not have any system requirements other than disk space for the Disconnected Mode Cache. (eDirectory is not required.)
The Platform Agent must be installed on every server or workstation running applications that log events to Nsure Audit. The Platform Agent supports the following platforms:
The eDirectory Instrumentation enables Nsure Audit to log eDirectory events. To avoid receiving duplicate entries for eDirectory events, enable the do not sent replicated events option. To enable this, open the Nsure Audit tab of your NCP Server object and check the “Do not send replicated events” checkbox. To log non-replicated events (such as logins), it must be installed on each individual server for which you want to log non-replicated events.
eDirectory Instrumentation also requires that the Platform Agent be installed on the same machine.
The eDirectory Instrumentation supports the following versions of the Directory:
The NetWare Instrumentation allows Nsure Audit to log NetWare and file system events. It must be loaded on every server for which you want to log NetWare and file system events. It also requires that the Platform Agent be installed on the same machine.
The NetWare Instrumentation supports the following versions of NetWare:
