Why Use DISKSET?

Use DISKSET to do the following tasks:

• Install an ADIC/Novell DCB subsystem.

• Place identification information about external hard disks on the EEPROM chip of the host bus adapter board.

  NOTE:  The term "host bus adapter," as used in this manual, includes the specific product "Disk Coprocessor Board" (DCB).

• Place configuration information about the hard disks attached to the host bus adapter on the board's EEPROM chip.

• Format an external hard disk through the host bus adapter.

• Back up the NetWare Ready configuration information from a NetWare Ready disk to a diskette.

• Restore the NetWare Ready configuration information from a backup diskette to the NetWare Ready disk.

  WARNING:  If you are using a DCB disk driver for a disk subsystem, run DISKSET.EXE before installing your NetWare server.

Replace path with the full path to the directory containing DISKSET.

Refer to the README.312 file on the installation diskette for information on the source diskette or directory. (On CD-ROM, the README.312 file is in each language directory under NETWARE.312)

Using DISKSET

• Refer to the ADIC manual for information on running DISKSET.EXE.
• You may need to refer to the documentation for your board.
• The configuration information allows the NetWare server to communicate with the hard disk through the host bus adapter.
