CDROM
Purpose
Use at the server console to allow a CD-ROM disc to function as a NetWare volume.
Syntax
LOAD [path ]CDROM [/option... ]
IMPORTANT: All options are case sensitive.
path |
Specify the path to CDROM.NLM if you moved it from the default directory. |
/option |
Replace option with any available option. |
/H, /h, or /? |
Display a help screen that explains the available options. When you use this option, the CD-ROM module is not loaded. You must execute the LOAD CDROM command again. |
/V=volume_name |
Specify a volume to hold the index files. Use this option only if you don't want to use the default volume. Default: SYS: volume |
/DISPLAYON |
Display filenames and a directory and file count as the volume is mounting. |
Using CDROM
IMPORTANT: Treat the CD-ROM as a read-only volume. Don't enable block suballocation or use file compression on the volume. These actions corrupt the CD-ROM volume index data.
- CDROM won't load unless you have loaded the NWPA.NLM NPA driver (an I/O device-independent driver that interfaces with the Media Manager).
- NetWare 4 supports CD-ROM volumes mounted with the MAC and NFS name spaces.
- CDROM supports High Sierra and ISO 9660 formats. It also supports HFS (Apple) file systems with an add-on module called HFSLFS.NLM, which is included with the NetWare operating system. To enable HFS support, load CDROM and then load the HFSLFS module.
