Before installing an NetWare 6.5 server into an existing tree, make sure you have prepared the network as instructed in Section 2.4, Preparing the Network.

If a problem occurs (critical errors, the installation fails, etc.) during the installation procedure before the file copy and the Operating System installation is complete, you must start the installation again from the beginning.
If a problem occurs (critical errors, the install fails, etc.) during the product installation procedure after the file copy and the OS install is complete, the installation finishes. An error is generated telling you which individual product installation failed, but the remaining products install normally.
HINT:If you attempt to install a new server into your tree at the same time you upgrade another server in the tree to NetWare 6.5, you might have difficulty logging in to the server being upgraded until the other server’s installation is complete.
