TCP/IP Statistics

TCPCON is an NLMTM utility that provides access to statistics and information about the status of various components of the TCP/IP protocol suite. In NetWare 6 SP1, TCPSTATS.NLM has been introduced to provide access to this information from a web browser. This NLM is a snap-in to PORTAL.NLM.

The statistics are the same as those provided by TCPCON.NLM. You can also view debugging information for TCP.NLM, TCPIP.NLM, and NETLIB.NLM.

In order for the TCPSTATS.NLM to function properly, you must load the following NLMs in memory: TCPIP.NLM and BSDSOCK.NLM.

To view the TCPSTATS.NLM information, do the following:

  1. Connect from any web browser to a server running PORTAL.NLM and TCPSTATS.NLM using the http:server-name:8008/

NOTE:  If there is no DNS entry for the server, the IP address should be given instead of the server name.

  2. From the left pane, select Manage Applications > Protocol Information.

    The following screen will appear.

  3. Click the protocol or NLM that you want to view information for.

IP---Configuration information and statistics for the Internet Protocol (IP).

TCP---Configuration information and statistics for the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).

    UDP---User Datagram Protocol (UDP) statistics.

ICMP---Configuration information and statistics for the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP).

OSPF---Configuration information and statistics for the Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol.

EGP---Configuration information and statistics for the Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP).

TCPIP.NLM Debug Information---Debugging information and statistics for TCPIP.NLM.

TCP.NLM---Debugging information and statistics for TCP.NLM.

BSDSOCK.NLM Debug Information---Debugging information and statistics for BSDSOCK.NLM.

NETLIB.NLM Debug Information---Debugging information and statistics for NETLIB.NLM.

NOTE:  Each screen has online help which gives detailed information about the statistics displayed on that screen.
