Issues for Users to Be Aware Of

You might want to make users aware of the following issues they might encounter while using a thin-client application:

• Printing to a local printer (a printer connected to the user's workstation) or a network printer captured to a local port is supported with both the RDP client and the ICA client.
• Printing to a non-captured network printer is not supported with the RDP client. The ICA client supports printing to a Novell Distributed Print Services^TM (NDPS^®) printer defined on the user's workstation.
• Saving files to a network location is supported with both the RDP client and the ICA client. The user's terminal server login script (Windows or Novell Client^TM) must provide the network location access and mappings.
• Saving files to a local drive is supported with the ICA client. However, when using the RDP client, users must run the DeFrame Shared Drive Setup program, setup.exe, located in the \deframe\shareddrive directory on Novell ZENworks OnDemand Services 2 CD. They must also install the NetBEUI protocol on their workstations. This solution will work only if the user's workstation is on the same network segment as the application's terminal server (in other words, the user does not need to go through any routers to reach the terminal server) or WINS (Windows Internet Naming Service) is configured to resolve NetBIOS names into IP addresses.

  On Windows NT/2000/XP, users must be logged in as a member of the Administrators or Power Users group to successfully run the Shared Drive Setup program.

• With the RDP client or Citrix MetaFrame* 1.8, the application will use the terminal server's date and time, not the workstation's date and time. If the terminal server and the user's workstation are not in the same time zone, this could cause inaccuracies or confusion in applications that have time/date reliant functions (such as a Novell GroupWise^® appointment or a Microsoft Outlook* calendar item).
