Installing OES servers into a new tree is the most straightforward of all installation scenarios. Simply follow the instructions in the appropriate OES server installation guide:
Installing OES NetWarein the OES for NetWare Installation Guide.
Installing Open Enterprise Server (OES) Linuxin the OES for Linux Installation Guide.
In this release of OES, if you want to create a new eDirectory™ tree that will contain both OES NetWare and OES Linux servers, you must start by installing an OES NetWare server first.
If you install an OES Linux server first, create a new tree during the install, and then add an OES NetWare server to this newly created tree, you will not be able to install any Client or Server Licenses. Any features that require either a NetWare Server license or NetWare Client Access license will be inaccessible.
Installation of NetWare versions earlier than OES NetWare (NetWare 6.5 SP4) into an OES Linux tree is problematic and should not be attempted. In particular, Novell does not support installing a new NetWare 5.1 server into an OES Linux tree.
