IMPORTANT:Because Linux treats filenames as case sensitive, when using NSS volumes on Linux, make sure to mount the volume with the Long name space (ns=long) option so that file queries are case insensitive. For information, see Section 13.17, Mounting an NSS Volume on Linux to Support Case Insensitive File Names (Linux). |

Mounting an NSS Volume on Linux to Support Case Insensitive File Names (Linux) |
For the Mount command ( mount) for NSS on Linux, key fields and options are now explained. A paragraph was added to explain how to place the mount command in the /etc/fstab file to automatically mount the volume as case insensitve whenever you restart the system. When using Samba, you should mount NSS volumes with the Long name space to improve performance. |

For NetWare, the file system type is nss. For Linux, the file system type is nssvol. |

For NetWare: 255 plus the sys: volume. You can mount NSS volumes beyond 256, but they are not visable or accessible through the normal Netware APIs. |
