2.1 Coexistence

This section provides information regarding the compatibility and coexistence of Health Monitoring Services with existing NetWare® or Linux networks.

2.1.1 Compatibility

The following table summarizes the compatibility of Health Monitoring Services with various network operating systems:

NA

At least one of the specified ports must be open and not blocked by routing. For more information, see Simple Server Status .

Robust

NetWare

OES on NetWare NetWare 6.5 SP3 or later

If you are upgrading from NetWare 6.5 SP2 to NetWare SP3 or later, you must have iManager 2.5 somewhere in your network and you must install OpenWBEM manually.

For procedures, see Installing OpenWBEM on a Server Running NetWare 6.5 SP3 or Later in the OpenWBEM Services Administration Guide for OES.

SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server 9 SP1 or later

2.1.2 Coexistence Issues

Monitoring on servers that are not running the owcimomd module can only report a Simple Server Status (up/down).

Health Monitoring Services is not cluster-enabled; therefore if the server you are monitoring from fails, you must log into iManager again.
