5.8 Using SUSE Manager to Upgrade from OES 11 SP1 to OES 11 SP2

  1. Ensure that you have completed the instructions in Section 7.6.1, Setting Up SUSE Manager and patched the OES 11 SP1server with the latest patches.

  2. Perform the service pack migration:

    1. Log in to the SUSE Manager Web console with administrative credentials.

    2. Click System, then select the OES server to be migrated.

    3. Click Software > SP Migration and verify the information of the installed product (SLES 11 SP2 and OES 11 SP1) and target product (SLES 11 SP3 and OES 11 SP2).

    4. Click Schedule Migration > Confirm.

  3. After the support pack migration action completion, reboot the OES server.

  4. Log in to the OES 11 server, run the yast2 repositories command.

  5. From the repositories, remove the OES 11 SP1/SLES 11 SP2 installation sources, then add the OES 11 SP2/SLES 11 SP3 installation sources.

  6. Run the yast2 channel-upgrade-oes command to complete the OES services reconfiguration. This will prompt for eDirectory and DSfW passwords if the answer file is not created. Provide the passwords and continue. For more information on creating the answer file, see Section 5.6.3, Creating an Answer File to Provide the eDirectory and DSfW Passwords.
