You might need to temporarily restrict user access to an pool. Instead of bringing down the server, you only need to deactivate the specific pool.
Theoption on the page makes the selected pools and all the volumes in them available for user access. The option on the page takes the selected pools and all the volumes in them temporarily unavailable to users. It does not destroy volumes in the pools, nor does it destroy the data contained in the volumes.
To change the state of a pool:

Select a server to manage.

In thelist, select the pool that you want to activate or deactivate.
Wait for the page to refresh. It displays the pool’s details and enables management options. The State field shows whether the device is Active or Deactive.
