11.3 ZENworks

Many ZENworks features, such as policies and application distribution, are completely eDirectory™ and file system dependent. There is no dependency on the server OS. The remaining services that do have modules that run on a server, such as inventory and imaging, are dependent on a host OS.

11.3.1 Upgrading to ZENworks 10 Configuration Manager

ZENworks 10 Configuration Manager is fully supported on OES 2 SP2 and later. If you are running an older version of ZENworks on NetWare, the following guides will help you upgrade to ZENworks 10 running on OES 2 SP3.

IMPORTANT:If you are upgrading using an Transfer ID migration, be sure to complete the upgrade to Linux before migrating to ZENworks 10.

11.3.2 Migrating ZENworks 7 from NetWare to Linux

The ZENworks 7 suite of products (except for ZENworks Middle Tier) is also fully tested and supported on the OES 2 SP2 and later platform.

For an example of migrating ZENworks 7 from NetWare to OES 2 SP3 by using the OES 2 SP3 Migration Tool, see Section E.3, Server Identity Migration.
