On multi-homed servers, the datagrid multicast service sends outbound control and data packets on all available interfaces on the system. This allows datagrid multicasting to work “out of the box” with multi-homed servers. This behavior might not be optimal if you require multicasting of files only to a subset of the available interfaces. You can instruct the datagrid to multicast only to the desired interfaces by selecting the correct interfaces from the Orchestrate Development Client on the Info/Configuration tab under . Restricting the set of datagrid multicast interfaces prevents large amounts of file data from being sent to uninterested subnets.
