4.4 Accessing a Host Server’s Console

In order to access a host server’s console using VNC, it first must be configured on the server, then set up and configured in the Development Client. This is normally done when you install and configure the Orchestrate Server. For more information, see Launching a VNC Terminal of the VM in the PlateSpin Orchestrate 2.0 Virtual Machine Management Guide.

  1. In the VM Client, click the Host Servers view.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Select the host, then click the Console Action Button button.

    • Select the host, then click View > Show Console.

    • Right-click the host, then select Show Console.

  3. Provide the VNC password, then click OK.

When attempting to make a VNC connection, VNC tests for a fully qualified domain name (FQDN), simple host name, or IP address.
