If you copy the contents of the entire ZENworks 7 Desktop Management program CD (or the contents of the entire ZENworks 7 Handheld Management program CD) to a hard drive location, and then you use the menus to navigate to the ZENworks 7 Handheld Management installation option of "Schema Extension and Product Licensing" (or, from the copied Handhelds CD location, you use the installation menus to navigate to the ZENworks 7 Desktop Management schema extension option), an incorrect splash screen and an error message will be displayed.
The issue occurs because the schema extension programs of these products have the same name and, when copied locally, use the same path; instead of receiving an informational message to use the correct CD or path, the executable is launched because the required file exists. The errors occur because the programs use different arguments for their respective launch routines.
If you plan to launch the schema extension program from a location to which one of these program CDs has been copied, you should restrict your use to only the schema extension program of the program CD you copied. For example, if you copied the ZENworks 7 Desktop Management CD locally, you should plan on extending the schema only for Desktop Management.
