If you are copying extended ASCII or double-byte character set data from a server, the workstation must have Windows installed with the same language as the server. For example, if you are migrating a Japanese server, make sure your workstation is running Windows with Japanese language support.

You must also enable UTF-8 support in the Novell Client™ on the workstation where you run the Server Consolidation and Migration Toolkit.
To do this, right-click the N icon on the workstation toolbar, then click > > > .
HINT:For Windows 2000/2003 consolidation projects, you can run the Server Consolidation Utility on the Windows server itself. This is the preferred method, especially if you have data that uses extended ASCII or double-byte character sets. (You cannot run the Server Consolidation Utility on Windows NT servers, because the Novell Client no longer supports Windows NT.)
