Clearing Object Data

If the SecureLogin directory attribute needs to be refreshed, you can quickly clear the data stored in the directory or SecretStore and let the data resync with the cache files.

To remove the attribute, use the SecureLogin snap-in to ConsoleOne®:

  1. Right-click an object, then click Novell SecureLogin > Advanced Settings.

  2. At the Clear Object Data label, click Clear.

The following figure illustrates this option:

The Clear Object Data button

Clearing object data does not clear all of the object's data. It only clears the object data stored in the directory. The data stored in the SecureLogin cache files on the workstation remain. Therefore, if you reboot the workstation or resync between the workstation and the directory, the data store in the directory will be repopulated with the information.

To clear all object data from a specific user, clear object data within the directory and then also delete the cache files located on the workstation.

The directory will be repopulated with the old information in the cache files only if the user sets up a passphrase that matches the old passphrase.

Disabling the offline cache does not disable SecureLogin's cache files. It just disables the use of the cache files for offline access. To completely remove or clear object data, delete the cache files on the workstation.
