A Sm@rtCert is an executable file that links you to a secure place on the Web where all your purchased products are located.

It is not a self-extracting file. It does not contain actual licenses or software for products. However, it enables you to download files that you need, such as a software product or license files for NetWare 4.

After you order a product, three tasks occur:

• You receive a URL for downloading a Sm@rtCert.

• Using the URL, you download a Sm@rtCert to your hard drive.

• You run the Sm@rtCert.

When executed, the Sm@rtCert displays a screen similar to the following illustration. For information about a specific field on a Sm@rtCert, click that field on the illustration.

Note: To help you organize your Sm@rtCert programs, we recommend that you save them to a directory named SMARTCERT on your desktop. You can reuse the saved copies of Sm@rtCerts if you ever need to download any of the licenses or software again. If you download the Sm@rtCert again at a later date, remember to download from the same workstation that you initially used to download the Sm@rtCert.
