5.7 Creating a User Remote Desktop Services Home Folder Policy

Remote Desktop Services, formerly known as Terminal Services, provides users network access from remote client machines. Novell Storage Manager provisions and manages these users’ home folders through User Remote Desktop Services Home Folder policies.

5.7.1 To Create a User Remote Desktop Services Home Folder Policy

  1. In NSMAdmin, click Policy Management.

  2. In the Manage Policies menu, select Create Policy > Create User Remote Desktop Services Home Folder Policy.

    The following screen appears:

  3. Specify a name in the Name field and leave the User and Remote Desktop Services Home Folder options selected.

    The Policy Options page appears.

  4. Select the options and setting that you want the policy to use:

User Remote Desktop Services Home Folder Policy Options: With the exception of the missing Manage Corresponding Remote Desktop Path check box, which is not applicable for a user Remote Desktop Services home folder policy, the fields presented on the Policy Options page are identical to those presented when you create a user home folder policy. User Remote Desktop Services Home Folder Policy Associations: The Associations page is identical to the Association page presented when you create a user home folder policy. For an explanation of the page, along with procedures for setting associations, see Section 5.5.2, Setting Associations.

User Remote Desktop Services Home Folder Provisioning Options: The fields presented on the Provisioning Options page are identical to those presented when you create a user home folder policy. User Remote Desktop Services Home Folder Target Paths: The fields presented on the Target Paths page are identical to those presented when you create a user home folder policy. For an explanation of the page, along with procedures for setting target paths, see Section 5.5.4, Setting Target Paths.

User Remote Desktop Services Home Folder Quota Options: The fields presented on the Quota Options page are identical to those presented when you create a user home folder policy.
