Downloaded sles9-vmwarews5-vm.zip.
After you have downloaded the VMWare Workstation 5 Virtual Machine of SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9, unzip the file (nld9-vmwarews5-vm.zip) to the folder on your Linux or Windows system where you keep your Virtual Machines. By default, this is "home/vmware" on Linux and "My Documents\My Virtual Machines" on Windows. When unzipping the file, make sure that you recreate the folders contained in the ZIP file.
After the file has been unzipped, start VMWare Workstation 5, open the Virtual Machine, then power it on. At this point, you will receive a message asking you whether you want to create a new identifier or keep the existing identifier. We strongly recommend that you keep the existing identifier. If you don't, you will need to reconfigure the network card within the Virtual Machine.
NOTE: In some circumstances the XWindows system will fail to initialize correctly within the Virtual Machine. If this happens you will see a text based console repeated four times on the screen. To fix this you will need to perform the following steps:
