8.1 Understanding Folder Forms and Views

When creating custom folder views, you must create both the form and the view.

The folder view is what users see when they access the folder. Each view must have a corresponding form. The form is how folder administrators enter data, which is then displayed in the folder view. Forms contain a series of fields, presented in a specific order and layout that you define.

For example, the form for a Discussion folder is what folder administrators see when they edit the folder by clicking Folder > Edit Folder. It looks like this:
